300tdi disco wont rev past 4k

hi all,
i have just done lots of work to my first disco cleaned intercooler new intercoolers hoses cleaned injectors new seals new manifold gasket cleaned intake manifold de cat and so on but i was sat in the drive giving it a rev after i de catted it and noticed it wouldnt rev past 4.5k ive also changed leak off pipes and other fuel lines going to and fron tthe pump does anyone have any ideas? it has been slugish and i'm not feeling the turbo kick in as much as i used to

What the F%^& do you expect ?- its a bloody tractor engine fuelled by diesel.If you want 9000rpm buy a Mk 1 Toyota MR2.
 
:eek::eek::eek: poor enjun! I only rev to just over 3k when I really spank mine and its properly warm! no need to rev harder than that IMO and its a diesel FFS yer power ain't on the red line!

if your not going to help keep your fu***ng mouth shut and id walk before i hads a mr2

THE LANDY GOES TO 7K AND IF ITS NOT GOING PAST 4.5K THEN THERES A PROBLEM SO I'M JUST ASKING ####

ok thanks just though i had a problem i dont even go over 60 mph i was just sat giving it a blow through with the cat being taken off

it also goes to 135 mph but mine only does 70ish comfortably... does that mean there's something wrong with it also?

I'm sure it'd do more... but guess what... it ain't designed for it so I don't bother trying!

I'm not too up on Land Rovers (yet) but if your diesel has a rev counter showing 7k on it I would suspect it has had the clocks changed in the past for the wrong ones.

My wife's Golf GTD is out of puff by 4k and will ;imp on to about 4.5k but there's no point.

Also I don't know if you were testing it out whilst stationary but it is nest to avoid revving your engine without any load on it it does not end of damage.

Fook orf ya self. No way has a tdi disco got a rev counter with 7K on it.

They have 6K on em. but only cos the V8 shares the same clocks.

I had a MK4 seirra that had 150mph on the speedo Bastiding thing never got past 90 though???

If you cant be bothered to actually look up what the max no load governed speed is,(4600rpm) then expect to get flamed.Telling me in such a rude way to keep my mouth shut is water off a ducks back to me.But in future if you want any help with your land Rover you can go jump.
Bothers me that people just lash out when they want everything their own way and throw out their toys when the result is not what they want or can afford.
 
i was meant to put 6k not 7k it was a typo i have a 330ci tuned out for speed i just want it running right as it used to feel quicker its only used at a toy or when the snow likes to show up, it has come in handy moving house though. i spend lots each month on new parts for the landy as its a project and i have a garage full of tools to do any job i need i was just after some info

135 :0 i'd be lucky if mine hit 75 with 235 85 tyres it shakes past 65 even though the tracking has been done and new track rod ends and drag links i hit the caps by mistake, i dont want speed just it running right its all about keeping these landy on the road

got all the mud off them ,and whenwas the last time they were balanced
