Greetings,
In my attached image there are two hoses labeled 6 & 7. These form part of the 300tdi intake. The section labeled (7) on my intake is torn. Can these be replaced with silicon hoses by any chance or do I have to resort to the original type hose? Seems a tad expensive to be honest.
Thanks in advance guys.

£25(ish) from Keith Gott (my local LR dealer and good service) here. You could try silicone (if anyone makes them?) but I would just stick to standard for that part, its not a pressurised pipe (the opposite actually) so cant see any benefit for silicone apart from looks if that's your sort of thing.

Thanks for the comprehensive replies.
Would these being torn/damaged affect performance in anyway? I figured so due to them being the intake to the air cleaner.

The only one who can appreciate the "look" of the silicone hoses in that location would be me as I am constantly under it.:D

Torn or damaged wouldn't affect performance (to the point where you would notice it) unless it was being crushed and restricting airflow. Where you would have an issue is if you go wading as it could let water in to the air filter / engine if you got deep enough and that is BAD
