Shoot straight fellah, bloody grey tree rats
Easier said than done tomorrow. My PCP is a Walther Rotex RM8. If you read the reviews they come across as being great. To be fair, when mine is working I can hit the greys right between the eyes head on or right behind the eye if a profile shot. I must say it's bloody accurate and consistent. However, the RM8's seem to have an issue with the regulators leaking and I sent mine back for the second time on Friday. I'll be using my old BSA Lightning springer and it's like using a blunderbuss compared to a PCP :rolleyes:

Always found Beretta 12 Bore Over and under works better, or my mates nice silenced 410 for some covert unobtrusive vermin control

Yeah, but the farmer on this permission is very keen on keeping his trees in one bit. Wouldn't do my feeders any good either :eek: :)
 
Farm i live on they wouldn't care which of these i used to dispatch vermin,

We trap a bit but have sadly no red's here so no none target species to worry about

I once shot one with the bottom rifle...lol

That's quite an armoury there! No idea what the bottom gun is :(
We're just hanging on to the reds here. The greys just keep coming, so the more you shoot down there the better.

Do the keepering and vermin control on the farm, we hate the greys, will do our best,
like seeing a red in the wild, did some work on brownsea island a few years ago reds everywhere...lovely

The bloody grey going to my red feeder has been there the last three mornings ranging between 7.45 and 9.08 on the camera. Was in the hide by 7.15 and sat until 9 30 and the bugger didn't show. :rolleyes: I'll try again in the morning. We had a red handed in from about a mile away with squirrel pox two days ago, so it's a worry having a grey around.
Gonna have lunch then try the turbo outlet playing on the wing test :eek:
 
Well, it's been a bad day all round.
Set the turbo test up.
Taped some kitchen roll to Inner wing.

Took her for a spin for about 6 miles.
Without looking at the kitchen roll you can see the oil that has collected on the silicone pipe.

So, another failure and back to scratching my head. Losing motivation with this a bit now :rolleyes: I'm presuming that's yet another CHRA up the creek. :(

Cheers, yeah I saw that video the other day. I've had a makeshift catch bottle on the rocker vent pipe and nothing comes out of the vent, so doesn't look like it's the vac pump.
I can only think the oil pressure is too high going in or there's still a restriction of the oil leaving the turbo. I think the next thing is to take the new oil return pipe off and poke something in the hole in to the block to see if there is anything in there. Or, drain the oil and take sump pan off for a look from inside.
 
Cool thought a long standing member like yourself would have but thought i would just double check

Going to workshop now to kick my 110 project, sulk and look at my 90 and sulk somemore.

Hopefully diesel bob will come up trumps and that will fix the 90..

re the 110 running out of ideas, convinced it is either fuel or air problem.

Good luck with yours got to be something daft to cause this as you have rebuilt the engine

Mine must be something obvious. Too obvious to see though :rolleyes: It's driving me up the wall. :mad: Can't even drown my sorrows tonight as I want to get up and wait for the squizzer again :)

Reckon we have slipped up here..

Could have fitted that to mine and see if it blew oil out

That would prove if it was cartridge related..after all mine is in bits so could have fitted it easily.

Never occurred to me. Might have been able to save you £100 :(
 
Have you considered that maybe you have excessive back pressure in the exhaust ? that can cause the turbo to leak oil. the 300tdi have a Catalytic converter and maybe yours is blocked. I dunno, you've tried everything else ight be worth having a look.

I haven't considered that. Mine could well be blocked the amount of oil it's burned over the last few years. How does that cause the turbo to leak oil? :confused:
 
pressure on the exhaust side pushes through into the cold side of the turbo. I was reading how blocked DPF's can knacker turbos and this was a way.
