Here we go. Now that's a proper 90 degree bend in that pipe. Does a 90 degree bend not close the internal diameter of a thick pipe like that?
Ooh, I've just had a thought. I've still got the old ones so I could bend one and have a look down the pipe. :)

Well, you said it was sharp and have no disappointed us . Don't think it would close it up enough inside to really make a difference to the oil pressure, but you could have a 90 degree metal bend fitted on at any hydraulic place for peace of mind?

What are hydraulic places? Just forest, sheep and cows up here! :):p

Hmm don't think mine looks like that (96 300), will have a look tomorrow. What is the brass/gold coloured bit?
Mine's also a 96 300 Defender. The Discos must have more space. Is yours a Defender, I can't remember?
The brass/gold coloured bits are the metal fitting on the pipes. They haven't had time to rust!

Mine is a genuine 96 300 defender CSW, so should be the same, will look tomorrow

Exactly the same as mine, then. Have you got the new pipes on yours? If so, will very much appreciate you having a look at yours.
I've had a brief look/google for the old type pipe fitting, but haven't found any for sale yet.

A bend like that shouldn't close up the I/D of the hose. If it had a sharp crease/flod on inside of the hose then it may restrict the bore and cause an issue but your's doesn't look like it has it probably would need be bent a lot further than it is before the bore starts toget restricted.. Those hose's are reinforced with wire so the don't collapse when bent like yours.

You will have to figure the views out yourself, but I have highlighted the pipes in yellow. I changed mine about 2 years ago as they had started to weep. Be warned my engine isn't as clean as yours!!

Theres a reasonable spattering of Pirtek's up past the wall, I've got the one in Portsmouth to do work via post before. Looks like Kwakerman has exactly the same hose again though, so if one hose is hot and the other cooler, alls well :)

Yours doesn't look like it's pressing against the wing! :(

Aye, they look the same. But not as tight as mine? What do you mean one hot and one cooler?

I've google the Pirtek website and there's a one in the Team Valley, Gateshead. That's about 30 miles from me, so do-able. I might give them a call next week.

I assume you have the pipes clamped to the rh side of the wing? I'll try and dig out my old reciept to see what Pt No's I got.

Aye it's odd that. Have you got a birds eye view pic of yours?
No, but I could take one tomorrow.

Just that you know there is acceptable flow through the cooler and it's working, bit like the pipes to your heater matrix. Both would be cool if there was a severe restriction
Aah, with you. Yeah, I could try that. Although getting one custom made or adapted by Pirtek can't be that expensive?

Can't remember exactly what I paid, but I had two lines off a project car re-hosed with 2 new fittings, 3-4 years ago and that was cheaper than buying two brand new hoses.

Cheapest thing though would be take up (or send) your original leaky hose with the stubby fitting, and just have them fix it - rather than adapt a new one
