3 amigos.... is there any harm?

Is there anything dangerous about driving the Freelander with the '3 amigos' on?

My wife had them come on yesterday and it hasn't changed the braking/driving characteristics, but obviously it has disengaged the decent control.

I guess I need to change the abs sensor(s) as it doesn't appear to be the3 brake switch...hope I get the right ones.
 
there is a sensor under the centre consol next to the hand brake it is comanly call the g sensor the do go around £60 if you have the tall consol under the arm rest is a cd holder 4 screws hold it in take it out and you will see it and it has a few wires going into it this could be you problem as you have said no hill decent but you also have no abs I would not want my wife going out with no abs just in case
 
Look,its pointless just guessing what could be wrong - get a decent diagnosis done and repair/replace the right component/s - it will be cheaper and quicker.For instance if you were daft enough to replace the G sensor all the lights would still be on as it needs calibrating after fitting.
 
Just had a diagnostic here in frogland - "capteur de vitess de la roue avant droite" seems to be the issue. Which in english sugests it's the right-hand side speed sensor, ie. the abs sensor.

Apparantly, the vehicle goes into a 'default' mode which allows the abs to work but not the traction control or the hill decent - so no harm in driving it as it is. Funny when the guy in the garage said "but I guess you don't use the hill descent at all, as most people never do.... - we tend to use daily in the winter here as you couldn't get in our place easily without it.

So, next stop is ebay to look for an abs sensor and harness!

Anyone changed one lately? Recommend a supplier in the UK? Any tips?

abs sensor they just do not want to come out you have to take the stud axel partly off and get a hammer and a sutible drift and bang after a couple of blows it might start to move suggestion dowse it in wd40 for a hour or so before hand gee I wish I had thought earlier and make sure the barrel where the new one should fit is clean you should get one with a small tooth past like tube just spred it over the sensor and just shove it in as far as it will go do not bang it with a hammer it will ruin it and then with wheels back on start to go forward or back it will ease its self off the ring and all should be well they do not go often so are you sure i got mine of ebay

Anyhow, I've seen plenty of sensors on Fleabay which match the same part number as I've been given a quote for - is it really possible to buy a sensor and loom for about £20?

Has anyone else bought this item on Fleabay?

Is it correct that the left and right sensor/looms are both the same?

nooooooooooo abs will not work with one sensor faulty you will have normal braking so if you rely on abs change asap.
