3.5 V8 Rebuild

Beautifully clean inside there!

yeah nice and clean, I gotta decide if I need to clean mine that much

it doesnt matter about the aesthetics of the welding as no-one looks in there mate

That was all done with the soda blasting!
n I was pre empting any welding banta! lol

I need to order a new clutch plate, any recommendations? was looking at

What is wrong with borg/beck??? did you reface the fly wheel?

no idea which one, BB a good one to go for then?
No ive yet to check the fly wheel for wear.

yeah only oem or genuine nowadays bud,too hard to get good stuff even with that

James Martin says they is damn good. Used in diesels they have more torque than a 3.5 V8 petrol. NEW pressure plate should go in also

borg and beck clutch kit comes in at about £90 inc VAT I think, just got one this week

comes with release bearing too, got a spare borg and beck cover for sale if wanted then all you need is the plate and bearing

got box in car, remind me tomorrow if you need the part number but its now AP clutch kits not borg on the box

even gen or bb come with placcy release bearing now which i never liked

britpart ones are all metal if you want but the plastic ones seem to be alright according to the garage I got mine from, he says they don't have problems with them and the HD ones are double the price and only britpart make them. plastic ones are b&b/ap made

yep, you can risk the ****part or go for the borg and OEM ones which are plastic

all release bearing carriers are plastic ,you can get the thin edged later type thrust face, or wider earlier which i think bearmach do

Half arse it then........... need all three to do it right, most clutch disc failure is caused by weak pressure plate not putting enough force on fly wheel

you know what they say, look after the pennies and the pounds will look after their seves
If it starts slipping ill sort it out.
