4.4 all day for me, v6 can do mega miles but you'd have to live with driving around with a grenade under the bonnet with the pin half pulled
Just run in!I don't think 100k is high for a big v8. Just my personal opinion (if it's been looked after)
Cheers for your reply. There are a few with FSH, and even some being offered with a warranty. Good to hear 100k is not considered too high.I don't think 100k is high for a big v8. Just my personal opinion (if it's been looked after)

Yea who'd do an oil service at such an interval on one of these engines?…and not been serviced every 7000 miles
Someone with their head screwed on, better than 15k!Yea who'd do an oil service at such an interval on one of these engines?

4.4TDV8 every time. If you go for the Vogue SE, ideally with a few upgrades, for example, the Harmon Kardon Sound upgrade, recognisable by the built in video screens in the front seat head rests, and if you can an autobiography upgrade then even better. 8 speed gear box is brilliant and you’ll get 30mpg or more. Don’t worry about 100k mileage, it’s nothing in this car. Not just the best engine, but in my view, the best Range Rover they ever made. And it’s not just me. Watch this.Been looking at different options for 2010-2012 Range Rovers. What would you consider the best option TDV6 or TDV8? What are the Pro's and Cons of each.

Just on that note...What is the 3.6 V8 like? Should this be considered?Ahh but they both say the 3.6 is the sweet spot. They're wrong of course and I'm a 3.6 owner
nope.Just on that note...What is the 3.6 V8 like? Should this be considered?
Absolutely, some good ones about. Egr valves and turbos are weakest points, have a Google but don't let it scare you too much or you'll end up in an audi and we can't have that. You aint said what your annual mileage is, if its low don't discount a 4.2 supercharged or petrol 4.4, I struggled to find them with the 07 on interior tho and they tend to be pricierJust on that note...What is the 3.6 V8 like? Bad experience?nope.
I'll be semi-retired, so not planning a lot of travel. Probably around 5k per year.Absolutely, some good ones about. If you're going for l322 whichever engine, have a really good look at the sills and rear arches for rust, they can rot out quite spectacularly! All hidden behind wheel arch liners and plastic sill covers
No, just a really good experience of my L322. The 8 speed box makes such a difference and since the 4.4 is more economical, by quite a bit, than the 3.6 and so much more powerful, why would you compromise on a 3.6 that will cost more to run in the long run?Bad experience?
Ahh gotcha, I'm happy with mine so far but already warned the missus we'll be upgrading to the 4.4 in a few years unless I go petrol next time....No, just a really good experience of my L322. I do about the same so was actively looking for 4.2 sc but not many about at the time in budget. I worked it out allowing for tax, fuel, servicing, insurance etc and the petrol would only have been about 2 or 300 a year more to run with a lot less to go wrong engine wise.....I'll be semi-retired, so not planning a lot of travel.
