no way near that but if i leave it mught end like wlm,s was over the weekend :D:D

The M or T series are nice reliable units and would work well in the Freelander. It should be do able if a gearbox can be made to work with it. The KV6 auto box will fit but most reliability would come from a manual box.

Plse read previous threads.
It's the same box.

The K4 and M-T series have a very different bell housing bolt pattern. The M - T are the same as the KV6 so the auto should fit as long as the drive plate is compatible? But if you are going to all the trouble of removing a KV6 and swapping it for a T series then the auto is'nt the way to go as the cooling system is marginal and the auto is'nt super reliable!! I think the L series box will fit the M-T or KV6 but it would need investigating.

I wasn't planning on using rover so it doesn't matter really. But I believe the L series is the same pattern as a t series! You could probably make a maestro turbo lump fit:D

If you don't want to use a rover then what do you think will work well? Honda would be a good choice but most of them have the gearbox on the wrong side :(

I have an idea that I'm looking into, it won't happen over night. And I'm keeping it to myself until I know it fits and I can make it work:)

t series lump is the same pattern as l series diesel, if you fit the rover box you can make use of ls diff in 2 wd

I've often thought about making my V6 into a manual, so using the L series manual box it would be an easy job I would think. There is little point in a Fwd Hippo, LSD or not!!

That's what they did with the rally ones, suspect it wasn't a standard box tho!

The high torque Pg1 box will take around 250 Ftlb of torque which should be enough but will the rest of the drive train?

Take it that'd be the turbo one? I'd imagine the ratios wouldn't be great for a freelander? ie a tall first gear not great if you do go off road.

The High Torque PG1 was fitted too the L series Diesel, M and T series turbo and the ZS180. It's the same box as the low torque box but some of the bearings were increased in size to handle the greater torque!!
