Apologies if this is the wrong forum - I'm new here and was pointed at this one from my introducing myself post.

I have a new to me 2010 110 SW 2.4TDCi - 120,000 miles (had new turbo at 100k, new timing chain at 110k, fsh and lots of bills - all Land Rover main dealer (and very 'ouch!' some of them are too)).

I had to take daughter to Uni on Sunday - 550 mile round trip in a day.

It was fine on the way up, happily cruising at 70 with torque to take on hills in 6th etc.

I filled up (at Asda) prior to doing the return trip and about 10 minutes later as I got on the motorway it was like a restrictor had been placed over the air intake.
It was fine on light throttles and would stay on 2500rpm in 5th (gradually losing speed on steeper gradients) but if I buried the throttle there was no more to be had. Coasting/downhill it was fine. No visible smoke in the mirrors.
Traffic was slow so I stuck with it thought maybe it was bad fuel and got through a third of a tank before pulling into the services.
I checked the hubs and the fronts were warm (but the same temp), rears cool. Transfer box too hot to touch.
Engine idled fine no noises.
Switched off, left it for 10 minutes.
On restart there was a loud noise like a belt slipping or a really dry bearing (it's not done this before). This lasted for about 20 seconds then stopped. Engine idled fine both during and after this noise.
I drove to the fuel bit (low revs but engine was ok, no noises) topped tank up with super diesel and prepared for a slow journey home.
It was fine - back to how it was on the journey up there, pulled like a train, no hesitation.
No engine lights came on during driving, just the usual when starting it.

I've read about intake pipe issues but the fact it sorted itself out and there was that horrible noise makes me think there was some sort of pump/belt issue affecting fuel delivery (or the turbo got 'stuck' and then noisily freed itself up)?

There's a 3 month warranty on the vehicle which runs out in about 3 weeks so I'd like to reassure myself (or not) that this isn't a sign of engine doom in 4 weeks time.

Any thoughts on what I should look at or just 'one of those things'?
