Ok, the 200TDi lump is on the way next week fresh from a rusty Disco. :)
I know how to sort out the fuel and electrics.:D
Getting a Steve Parker exhaust adaptor.:p
Stuck on which exhaust to get, I need a TDi exhaust but which one should I get for a 1984 Petrol CSW? (I'm going to replace the whole system)
Also acording to this:

My petrol engine mounts are not going to fit the 200TDi, although it say's diesel engine mounts are ok.....I was told the 2,5 NA and the 2.5 petrol were the same mounts???? Which is it?

This review also says the brakes should be upgraded??? My Landy already locks the wheels easily so what gives????

I've just bought and fitted one for my 90tdi from Paddock for about £100 - seems to do the job pretty well ;) For a laugh I spoke to ATS - they wanted £270 for, effectively the same thing.

Being able to lock the wheels isn't a very good indication of how effective the brakes are - although, on the face of it, you'd think it was.

If your car already has the same discs and drums as an early 200tdi, there's no point in upgrading - if not, I'd seriously give it some thought before driving faster than you used to be able to.

Cheers,

its cause hes not fully explained that the diesel mounts can be modified to fit. fairly easy.

talk to miniman/chris re the conversion and the exhaust system.
he has a great set of photos too.

Which diesel mounts? The Disco ones or my "petrol" ones and what "mod" would be required........

Thanks for that, are either of you reading this?? :)

cant remember now, ive had a bad day tiling a bathroom.

think its the 90 diesel ones will do, but modified slightly and welded a bit.
the petrol ones are U/S.

When I said it would lock the wheels I mean if you really give it some welly (Black ones) I always thought "standard" landy brakes were very powerfull any way so why change a good thing....
I'll try paddocks but I really wanted to know if anybody knew which model of TDi to get, SWB yes, are there any differences between TDi models exhausts (except for cat ones) ?

U think?
I had all the tiles behind the cooker right along 6' to the boiler fall off due to heat, I have just finnished grinding off all the adhesive and grout to re-use them as B&Q stopped selling that colour.
I looked like a bloody snowman after all that grinding!!

Paddock Spares - Land Rover, Range Rover Parts & Accessories - Discovery, Defender and Freelander

Mouse over the defender bit on the left and follow the 'exhaust' tree through. IIRC you'll need a 200tdi 90 one if you're fitting a 200tdi into a 90.

Are you using the Disco engine ancilliaries or sourcing some defender ones?

Cheers,
