I'm keeping my defender away from you lot for now why your after an engine you's will be nicking mine next :p still think mines better than all yours.... of course coz i own it :p haha

I did ask about that , must pm him

in response to your sensible post , im not rushing to try and be better than anybody else, I look to other members for guidance and experience when needed so certianally aint trying to offend or outdo them

yes my job title is trainee , as you said there is always more to learn anyway

as for my truck , usally it dosent break that much as I have been doing it in this vehicle every few days for months , only the last few weeks have I broken it , this time its not really the vehicles fault so for a standard truck its doing very well ,

Well hopefully it will be end of disasters and a period of reliability if such a thing exists with land rovers

By end do you mean a rather out of proportion explosion ? Or as in he may treat a new engine with some respect ?

I will , it will have some flexi drainpipe for a snorkel , I smashed a proper one off it stuck out too much , flexi pipe will go on the inside line of windscreen so will be protected , especially after fitting tree wires

Tree wires are construction and use fail- like bull bars on newer vehiclesvehicles both outlawed.

Hey there's no need for all the arguing guys c'mon!!!! :D

I dont want to try and side with anyone but just want to say i've been off roading with these guys recently and they're all great guys, very knowledgeable, very friendly, very very good drivers from what i seen from them all when we were all out and they really do work as a great team when they're all out together :)
I can assure you that they're not out for trouble i had a great time and done a lot of driving.... it was all legal where we all went and i learnt an awful lot.

They've helped me a lot with my defender along with quite a few other people on here as i'm still learning and they're great to be around :)

Chatting on here doesnt really give anyone the best impressions of others ... everyones different in person.... Maybe a few of you should visit the site its really good :) (the legal parts of it of course)

Don't want to argue with anyone... just saying :)

shurrup you,you wont sell me your landy.boooo.:D

Ain't no shame being a trainee. All of us were trainee's at some point in our professions. I am not meaning you are ashamed btw, just meaning saying your a trainee mechanic isn't a bad thing, that's good means you have a career path mapped out.

Anyway, got any gory pics of mashed engine bits yellow?

nah mines better , it has mud on it not glitter :p

Haha there's nothing wrong with a bit of glitter.... Just makes it.... Different? :p Haha

Haha you still want to buy a defender covered in glitter! Oh dear  catch me when im having a strop over it not doing as its told and id prob give it away! Haha :D

:nopics:

Where are the photos/videos of your off-road escapades?

I'm sure we would all much rather see some hardcore off-roading instead of a thread full of people giving you a hard time for getting stuck or breaking your landy!

Isn't yellow backwards WOLLEY lol, must admit when I started doing more extreme stuff I kept breaking stuff, every time I broke something I replaced it with updated stuff until I stopped having to use the big yellow taxi :)
Still break the odd shaft or cv but carry spares so can fix at scene, think the lesson has been learnt if chance of water ingress check air box and Intercooler before running.
Good luck with the repair and future mods though.

I cant see why your getting so much stick mate
Its your landy (not a f ing truck )
Your mending it and paying for it

Question is
Are you having fun
Are you learning how to mend your motor
Is the only thing your hurting , your wallet

If so carry on and be safe :)

would be good to buy the all singing all dancing bits to bolt on ya landy, but its the cost!
As said you are enjoying yourself and learning repair bits
granted its the same bits over and over again, but that is the best way of learning aint it ?

hi guys aint been on here for a while been mentally busy and bad internet connection to boot ! will post pics of rods when I get a chance :)

to iann+greyhair I don't get it either its my truck not anyone elses so I don't see a problem in me breaking it and repairing it , you can always learn ! plus im not getting myself into the s**t as its a second vehicle :)

currently looking for a new engine ideall a 200 but 300 will do anything to get it going again ! probably wont be soon though as finances are tight unless one comes local and cheap......?
