That makes no sense, as the engine has to have air going in, or it won't run.
it only does it at 2000 rpm all the rest of the time its sucking thats where the noise of like a dump valve is coming from and i know it makes no sence but thats whats happening ive taken the turbo off now to look at it inside the other strage thing is there is a metalic rattle noise coming from the intercooler like something has broke off and gone thro ????

I'd be seeing what is making the noise in the intercooler.
It's possible something has got through the turbo, and is now trapped in the intercooler.
Mine had a nut in the piston, where some clueless moron had dropped it into the intake, which ended up in cylinder No2, causing lots of damage.

Does the turbo look damaged?

got to take turbo apart

hi all im getting high press air comming back thro the turbo inlet to the air filter but no play in turbo spindle any ideas ????
right ive changed the turbo and actuator its alot better but still making the noise , now ive plugged into it and the manifold absolute press is 15.7 psi on tick over
and 36psi at max boost is this ok ?? ans where is the boost regulator located ?? tia

The ECM is in control of boost pressure, by moving the vanes of the turbo.
The boost pressure tops out at 17 PSI above atmospheric pressure, given a MAP of 31 PSI.
So yours is a little high, so check the MAP sensor, as it's responsible for returning the pressure data.

On the top of the throttle body, just to the right of the dip stick. ;)
more problems , new turbo and actuator see pics off codes still black smoke and noise ????
