turbo

Hi, I am new to a 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS, 96k miles. I note that the turbo only kicks in @ 1500 revs - below that the car is accelerating hardly at all.* Is this normal???
* In comparison my previous 2007 HONDA CRV 2.2 TD, 115k miles, would pull away happily from 1000 revs.

Have you got a diagnostic scan as it could be worn sensors or hole in pipes. Turbo could be worn. Most turbos kick in the 3 4 gear as the revs increase for fuel efficiency the air mixture on motorway. If you are struggling at lower gear to accelerate from the lights let's say it low on power. The Egr is at fault.
