That will allow you to read and clear codes and I think you can read live data on it. However, it won't let you calibrate anything if you need to.
Unfortunately, my gap is vín locked so can't be shared even though you're close by.
Thanks wazzajnr will probably get one got it saved in watch list noticed your in chorley cool The island 4x4 site looks cheap for service parts need to get the auto box done first as it drives great but small fluid leak from the plastic drain pan.

I use island for most parts. Get ready for a shock on the fluid change, the fluid is serious money! Eurocarparts sometimes have a good deal on it so check them out first.
You will need either an infra red thermometer or something that can read gearbox temp via diag port when you come to fill the box.
I've cobbled up a garden sprayer with a hose for filing it if you need to borrow it.

Cheers I bought a 500ml syringe for 10 quid. I presume the box needs to be hot after new filter and pan fitted to get all the oil in there. From what a seen around it’s 6litres approx 10 quid a litre :) Watched a few YouTube vids. So get as much in as possible then get it warm and then try to get the rest in.;-)

I'll be amazed if you can get it for 6 quid a litre, closer to 20 quid a litre!
Fill with engine off until trickles out, replace fill plug, run engine until gearbox above (I think) 40 degrees.
Select each gear for 20 secs, then do same again. Remove fill plug and top up until fluid trickles out.
You won't get the full capacity in as you won't get the TQ empty unless you remove the box. You must do all this on a flat surface.
This procedure is for the 6 speed but I suspect the 8 speed will be much the same.
@Bemble is the gearbox god, if he tells you something, you'd be strongly advised to listen.
I think @Henry_b has worked on the 8 speed too but I might be mistaken.

Yes you were right all the way. Eurocarparts was best value on gear box oil ZF life was only 40 for 6 litre, to make it even better its was 50% off my first order. Got all service parts from island,
Thanks for your help again much appreciated...

The service procedure for the 6hp26 is in the "how to" section of the RR subforum.

It is an involved procedure.

Has to be done right.

The TDV8 wouldn't of been my first choice for an entry into L322 ownership.

The V8, is s troublesome beast.

Good luck though.

I'd of bought a Jag V8 powered L322.

Also rot is seldom what it seems, the l322 loves to rust

I think you will find its 40 quid for 1 litre

sh1t wazzajnr 40 for 1 Lt need to check what I have bought now.. I suppose the job has to be done..
Henry also I was lead to believe the 3.6 was the ‘most reliable’ and the best out of the bunch, but you have me worrying now..I have owned a 2.7 on a 56 plate In the past but never messed with it much.
Yes the rust is also around I have been underneath bathing in the grease and rust already.. worse on rear end of the vehicle...I also have a mini lido in the boot..
