2005 Range Rover HSE fuel economy?

My observation is that this vehicle - 2005 Range Rover HSE US version - that has M62 v8 engine is getting 15 mpg at max on combined city/highway cycle.

Is this normal/expected?

I add about 20% to the lies in my Mustang, it's not a science, it just makes me feel... better? Nope, cheated.

Managed 35.3mpg in the 4.4 TDV8 on a round trip from Maidstone to Falmouth over the weekend which I was very pleased with. I don't bother trying to hyper-mile these things, it just spoils the enjoyment. When I fill it again, I'll work out the economy properly and that will wipe the grin off my face I have no doubt.

I've adjusted the mpg-ometer to try and make it more accurate.
My long term average is 25mpg and i always try to drive as frugally as possible, but that doesn't mean i do 56 on the motorway, try to stick between 65-70
 
One one the reason why I asked - a shop several months ago pulled 'Too rich on idle' codes (I never saw that code using All Comms III cable) and told me that engine was getting more fuel than needed and it also was contributing poor fuel economy. Also told me that I need to replace mass air flow sensor. Which I did. It did not improve the fuel economy at the end...

But seems 15 mpg is norm based on the replies.

Over weight is actually good thing. At least in our case because it is close to 6000lb and according to local tax code, we can deduct entire price of the vehicle against the income instead of using depriciation.

So when I will need to replace this, I will need to pick up something that is >6000lb and I have not much desire to buy F250/RAM/Silverado or Lightning and Cybertruck...
