2005 Freelander 1.8 Clutch Master Cylinder

I'm going to change the clutch master cylinder as I was told this might help with rough gear changes. But if it turns out to be the gearbox will I have to replace the master cylinder with another new one, or can I reuse the replacement one I used.

I have an auto so not 100% sure, however, I would have thought you could re-use the one you have.

All clutch hydraulics are external on 1.8, the master and slave come as on unit, all filled and bled, make sure your clutch actuating arm is oiled and free, and make sure the slave bracket is not cracked or bent, and perhaps give the gearbox an oil change!
