Hi

Is it possible to fit both the fog and driving lights (pod type) to the front of a 2005 model or are they both fitted in the same position meaning I have to choose one or other.

I think you have to choose one or the other when your not having the standard fog lights like mine did.

I definitely want these spot lights you have! How did you fit them? My FL is a 2006 model, with fog lights, but the bumper doesn’t have a specific place for those extra pair of lights you have fitted.

I ordered the from Ebay. Partno: VUB500870

Arrived with full instruction and some templates where to cut the holes in the bumper and how to do the electrics.

Yes, there are a lot of diffrent prices. I watched Ebay for a long time. I knew they cost about Euro 295,-- :eek::crazy:

I got them 2 yrs ago for euro 59,-- incl. shipment from a UK seller. Brand new and original LR packingmaterial.
 
I very much doubt it, you wouldn't want spotlights on in foggy conditions as the light bounces back. Fog lights are deliberately low beams to cut under the fog.

I purchased from an Ebay UK seller. 46 pounds + postage.:) Now have to wait for delivery.
Silkwood, where did you installed the switch?
 
Looking at the instructions the switch that comes with the kit replaces the one you already have. That is why I asked my previous question about use with spotlights already fitted on my car.

The switch doesn't replace another but is an extra switch. See the 2 on it. It is placed next to the pdc switch. When I get the beam on theze light go on with it. I can switch them of with the ectra switch. Poeh, it is difficult to explain if your not that good in English. :confused:
 
when fitting the fog lights the rule is they only come on when headlights are on and can only be used in fog and snow where visability is less than 100 yards so I do not know the metric form
 
Not quite. Fog lights can be used with sidelights if their fitting complies with construction and use regulations. Spot/driving lamps can only be used with main beam headlights.

You MUST use headlights when visibility is seriously reduced, generally when you cannot see for more than 100 metres (328 feet). You may also use front or rear fog lights but you MUST switch them off when visibility improves (see Rule 236).

Silkwood, my car is also LHD. I always thought this was the correct wheel side.:rolleyes:
The pictures speak for themselves. If I understood correctly, the kit comes with a new “cover” for the bottom left corner of the dashboard. It has 3 rectangular holes for buttons, as opposed to the original 2 buttons (cruise control and rear parking sensor). Then we can fit the extra button for the spot lights. No need to cut the dashboard.

Do you know what are the light bulbs specs for this kit (H4, H7, H11 etc.)? I am considering installing HID lights on these lamps.

This is incomplete........regulation 25 also says that obligatory headlamps need not be kept lit.......

if in seriously reduced visibility, a pair of front fog lamps which is so fitted that the outermost part of the illuminated area of each lamp in the pair is not more than 400 mm from the outer edge of the vehicle is kept lit;

Hi, The guys over here disagree when we say that lhd is the right side.:D
I'm a guest over here and going to Convoy 4 Heroes, so I behave.:p

You don't need to cut in the dashboard. Just replace the cover with 2 switches for the one with three switches. I have no cruise control, so it is a blank switch.

Euhm, I'm not sure now what the bulbs are for the spotlights. The mainlights are H7 in my car.
