If you've already seen it, sorry for wasting your time.

Thanks Stanley. I'm still no further on in getting the old Alpine radio to have full functionality with the CD autochanger and the remote control buttons on the steering so have just put the Blaupunkt H/U back in. We live in hope! Back to the Stag resto for the time being!

Right, ui have just ordered a second-hand Kenwood to replace the one i had that has gone fubar.
NOT on Ebay or Gumtree or any other dodgy site. From a company that deals in second-hand car audio stuff and unlike eBay isn't expensive and unlike eBay seels stuff that is actually tested and pronounced working.

SO for one thing, they may be able to help you
AND, once I have taken my old LR unit out, I can photograph and do diagrams of all the wiring plugs for you so you know the pinouts and the colours of all the wires.
It powers and controls a CD player AND an amplified subwoofer. AND works from steering wheel controls. Those even work from my D2!, where it temporarily resides.
I cannot remember how many speakers it has but I am sure it has 4 door speakers and two tweeters in the A pillars. Also two speakers in the pillars either side of the rearmost door above the back fold up seats in the boot.
There are SERIOUSLY a shedload of wires.

Here they are https://www.jtaudio.net/
I do hope all of this is some help.:):):):):)
