So we had to replace the BCM as it had a heap of faults,

Prior to replacement central locking worked intermittent, new keys were created and worked briefly, BCM has since been changed.

Transport mode etc has been checked all OK

Tried to re-sync keys via the
1:Ignition setting one turn then turn off within 5 seconds
2: press and hold the unlock and press lock 3 times and release both on 3rd click at same time.

nothing happens, not a blip.

I have an IIDtool and i cleared all the faults, nothing for the BCM coming up.

Any ideas would be great

Thank you

When you say new keys were created, I had a new key cost £428, they programmed it to the car. Failing that how is your battery, they are famous for creating all sorts of faults due low voltage, I know this from the guys on here, so when I bought it that was the first thing I did

yer i thinking of putting an
Optima YellowTop Deep Cycle Battery 75AH 900CC - D31A (i have these in my defender and a smaller version in my freelander 2 and they have been great)
any other recommendations for a good battery?.

i spoke to the guy that programmed the keys and he thinks the reciever in the car might not be picking up the signal. been trying to trace back the wires to see if they are okay but im having trouble seeing where they go.
i thought they went to the BCM but the cable coming from the reciver to the little unit top inside rear quarter pannel which i assume changes the signal to it can be real, that cable i cant see where it goes and on the BCM i can see any cables similar to it.

Deep cycle batteries are not recommended as starter batteries, that is not what thy are deigned for.
The MF31-1000 from Battery Megastore on line is about the best for the P38 and L322. It's a tight fit.

i was also looking at this one
ISSDIN110LH MF AGM IDLE STOP START CENTURY BATTERY
Again, unless your car features "Stop Start" it's not appropriate as the charging control will not be specified for that type of battery and on your year of car it is certainly not suitable for an AGM battery.

so on further research i found this about AGM batteries and the charge etc required to maintain them.

So as per the Range_Rover_L322_System_And_Operation_Workshop_Manual it states:
The integrated regulator controls the output voltage from the alternator to prevent the battery from being overcharged and to prevent the vehicle electrical systems from excessive voltage. The regulator, which is temperature related to optimise battery charging, sets the maximum output voltage to a nominal 14.5V and varies the output voltage depending on the state of charge of the battery and the loads required by the vehicle electrical systems.

Based on the advise from the Century batteries : can support electrical systems with large parasitic drains
AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) Absorb Charge 14.6 to 14.8V Float 13.6 to 13.8V,

From the IID Tool i can see my charge rate floating is 13.7 volts (perfect)

I agree that 14.5 nominal charge/absorb charge rate falls 0.1-0.3v short but i cant see how this will make too much of a difference overall. (i will probs once every couple months put the proper AGM charger on it)

Also on further research im going to install a secondary battery in the rear drivers quarter panel to help prevent further issues down the track with fault codes etc.
I found this youtube vid that explains it all , there is a better one that shows the battery can be installed under the plastic panel
the first vid is from the mob that supplies the kit

anyway this thread was supposed to be about the Central locking and not about the battery so any further advice about the Central locking system would be greatly appreciated.

i think this was the problem

yer for whatever reason it wont load it up

i pulled the XUO000020 - Land Rover Amplifier apart and it looks like water got inside and some of the components had green stuff all over them lots of corrosion

Oooh, if there's green anywhere near any résistors or chips most of the time they are done... Maybe a clean up and a good dry out you could be luckyo_O:)

yer i will clean them up and see what happens, not holding my breath tbh but at least its a good starting point to solving the problem :)
