Cheeky Boy! That's my document as supplied to a chap in distress earlier this year. :D

He never came back to say he had been successful though.

Sorry:oops: @DanClarke I couldn’t remeber where I got it from. I have got stuff from all over that may help me, so thought I would share.

I have 2 I think but that one explains it better, now I know where it came from I will note it:)

Sorted it Dan:)

Hi All, is there anyone in Central Scotland (East Kilbride) with a Nanocom or similar who can assist me with my P38 DHSE please?

I have 2 key fobs, until yesterday both manually unlocked and started the car and one remotely worked the central locking. I got back to the car yesterday to find neither key will now do anything except manually unlock the drivers door, the engine won't start with either key in the ignition, I'm getting an Engine Disabled message, and Please Enter Code, however as I've got an issue preventing EKA code entry (microswitch, ground or similar) I'm unable to use the code.

I had to leave the car and get a lift home, I'd like to turn off the alarm and immobiliser completely now as I live rural and there's not much chance of anyone trying to steal it.

Is the Nanocom the only device that'll do this and is there anyone nearby that has one please?

Thanks
Leave the alarm on, turn off the immobiliser and the EKA in the BECM and it will work on the key. Nanocom or Faultmate will do the job. Of course you could just fix your FOB's.

I was being tongue-in-cheek, everything we do here is for the good of the whole community.
Really pleased you spotted my minuscule contribution in the first place. :D

@DanClarke
I know that, but now I know where it came from so if I ever have to use it, I will know who to thank.:)

Anyway I think SuperMozz is on the case so things should be ok from here.:)

I might be going up to Aberdeen one day next week for work. If I am, and you haven't solved it by then it's not far out of my way to drop by and disable the eka etc.
If I'm going up, I'll drop you a PM on here.
Thanks, didn't sort it today, will let you know if I do

Stone me! That's a really generous offer..... and a long drive.

Update from today, thanks for all the help, docs, suggestions and Moz on the phone too
Ran through the suggestions from Moz to try to sync the fobs again, couldn't get it working though. Removed the door card from the drivers door, bellied out the cable from the door station to the latch mechanism, it was OK, started removing the latch mechanism to inspect the microswitch etc but I've no replacement for this, didn't have much daylight left and had to be able to lock the drivers door so left it in place so I could lock the door with the key (it's sat in an industrial area where no ones around at night). Tried Dan's doc for entering the EKA cobe by shorting the wires for lock and unlock, I couldn't get it to work, shorting the lock wire to the ground got a definate response from the car, beeps, but shorting the unlock wire to ground got no response from the car at all. Locked it up and left it. Will print the doc that Moz emailed over, read over it and return for another go. Luckily I've my old Discovery to run about in for now in the snow.

Well, I hope you get it sorted with a Nanocom ASAP then.
My switches went and a new drivers door-latch assembly fixed all the issues. EKA could be entered and no more "Ghost" lock cycling while driving over bumpy ground.
Good Luck!

Somewhere on here are the @martyuk lock troubleshooting tests. On RR.net too, I believe. He also does refurbed actuators on his website.

It needs all 3 microswitches working to get the EKA in. The boot grounds through one of them, middle one? Without that, no EKA in. The boot switch itself is prone to water ingress. Easy to remove boot trim, whip it out and clean up.

@Boabby I know this might seem a simple, short term , solution, but do you or anyone you know not have AA/RAC , or some such. Or even a low loader? No friendly , local, recovery guy, who will go pick her up? Rather than leaving, and working on, her in an industrial estate.

I've got Gem breakdown cover, can get it recovered, think it's safe enough where it is but just didn't fancy leaving it unlocked there.

Actually, just thinking: we all pay car insurance based, partially, on postcode of where we park it overnight. Wonder how the insurance company would be, if something happened, to any of us, if the vehicle had been left elsewhere, especially an industrial estate? Would their argument be 'should have had it recovered, at earliest opportunity' ?
