I reckon the rebuild is important. My 300Tdi had about 170K on it when it went belly up. I'm hoping the rebuild has got it reasonably close to it's original capacity of 111hp. So hopefully I've achieved the equivalent of putting a boost pin and a boost ring in an old engine. Mind you, the ring and pin are a hell of a lot cheaperNow, I have seen this.......

Will be getting one soon....LOL. will rebuild it first tho.
Cheers

Ahh, I see You've already got the pin and ring in though, so you just thinking of joining it all up with a little more accuracy with that controllerNot an engine rebuild , just got to put the tub and all the accompanying stuff back on it. Am not touching the engine.
Although I did adjust the wastegate rod ( 1.5 turns increase in length )and reduced the turbo pressure from 19.5 ish to 17.5 ish PSI, so need to do another adjustment.
Cheers

I can imagine. The first reconditioned turbo on my engine rebuild was iffy (or so I suspected) when I swapped it the difference was great. Will have a chat with Neil from fourby at Billing and see what the crack is, may be interesting to see if it will do much once the wastegate pressure is set using a gauge. Amazing the difference a working wastegate and actuator make to the driving though...LOL..Strange that..
Cheers

AwesomeBoost pin fitted this morning, staggering difference in power. Bit of smoke under foot to the floor acceleration but at all other times its spot on.
I’ve recently bought a fourby pin, ring and egt gauge, my 110 300TDI went well before but smoked a lot at high rev’s, when I fitted the pin the original had not been turned so I assumed that it just had a tweaked fuel screw, after fitting just the pin I had no power until the turbo boost cut in, it was so bad I found it difficult to pull away with a trailer behind without revving it up, I then fitted a boost ring, it’s now slightly better, but to get it better it smokes a little on full power, is there anyway to overcome the lack of power when pulling away, until its hot it’s dreadful, I only had one spring and one washer when I changed the pin.
TIA
?? @battenbergAwesome
That’s what I thought to !.
