Well, drove it home 15 miles just now. It sits steady just over 12 o clock til you need the power for going up hill for example, when you have it sitting at 3k or so revs for a wee while the temp climbs back up to red.

I took it easy and it sat fine, again just past 12. Still got the old issue of overheating with the foot down but fine otherwise...

I would get a sniff test as sounds like you have a cracked head

if you don't have the specialist tools
LRT-12-115
LRT-12-108
LRT-12-112
LRT-12-114

I will shortly have all the sizes and dimensions for you to make your own or have a engineering shop make for you

Have you checked the viscous fan? Do the rolled up newspaper test. Your fault is typical of a failed viscous fan, or a cracked head. If you are lucky, it's the viscous.
If you remove the cap of the expansion tank when the engine is hot, the water will immediately overflow, this is because when you release the pressure, the coolant will boil. Increasing the pressure raises the boiling point.

Back to it today!

There is a steady stream of coolant out the little hole in the top of the expansion tank. Should i leave it idling with the cap on or off?

Why does it overflow out the expansion tank when i turn the engine off When its up to temp?

was there any problems before you decided to drain? if not see post #18

yes was overheating at higher revs/speed

viscous fan was recently replaced with a brand new one.
