1 No. 2 Pump knackerd yes. Would it show on daig? No. FIP is fuel injection pump. Spill off pipes connecting injectors.

A shame about the diagnostics. 
Anyway, is there an easy way to test? I did have a failed in tank pump on my last car (Rover 75 diesel) and I couldn't let it go much below a quater of a tank without the car stalling. However, I know this will run right on empty coz that's how much was in it when I got it from the dealer! Right on empty!!
I assume I'll hear it if I get someone to turn the ignition on?
Are they both fair tests or a waste of time? I need something to do tomorrow

Only if it's cold whilst the glow lamps are lit.
