1997 2.5 tdi, engine washed now won't start

Hi alli a newbie to landyzone my disco has died please help!!!! I have a 97 2.5 tdi 300 series, the rocker gasket had been leaking so I took it down the car wash and blasted it off the engine all the excess grease and grime! I left it running whilst doing it, afterwards I parked the car outside the shop 5-10 mins later it started up no problem! Now / 2 days later I've come back to the car and it wont start just turns over but doesn't seem to wanna go! Any help would be greatly appreciated!many thanks Thomas

Hello, take it you've 'washed' some of the electrics, take it you didn't wrap any them up prior to hosing?

Go back to the shop and get some wd40 and spray away...

Basically yeah i didn't wrap them up! It turned off and started back up within 30 mins of doing it now 2 days later it won't start! Any advice could it be the fuel stop immobiliser

Possibly still related as water has seeped into wiring..disconnect things one at a time, clean and wd40. Theres not a lot of wiring on them anyway so wont take long.

Yeah my old mans pretty handy there's no fuel getting upto the injectors he says but there's plenty at the filter

Stop solenoid, probably have an immobiliser on that one so it'll be at the back of the injector pump with some wires coming out

Little hint Thomastdi, people like it if you introduce yourself in the "introducing yourself" section before begging for help. It's what it's there for.

Oh, and include all the relevant information rather than drip feeding it.

Then, take the banter on the chip.

Finally, you might get some useful advise.

Like what he says^^^, sound like the stop solenoid (on the back of the injector pump, o/s of the enjun) and if there's an imobiliser (remote on central locking) could well be linked to that. Although it may be a wire has fallen off or developed a dry joint.
