I have a 1987 90 Defender csw which was originally a TD but had a NA in when I bought it 2 years ago. I have a 200tdi replacement engine which has been stripped and am in the process of rebuilding. The engine has a disco block but everything else is Defender.
My query is to do with the exhaust. The current exhaust appears to be a NA front down pipe and then the rest looks like TD.
Will a 200tdi front down pipe meet up with the existing TD or should I put the TD down pipe and TD front section or a complete 200tdi exhaust?
Comments please.

If everything other than the block is defender can you not use a complete 200tdi defender exhaust setup? I have a full disco 200tdi into my 110 and I have the Steve Parker stainless down pipe into 2xTD intermediate sections followed by the TD rear section.

200tdi exhausts are a nightmare..

Send a picture of the current exhaust + mountings
It is a factory TD exhaust with the factory TD mounts. The only difference is the front intermediate section has about 6 inches cut off to mate to the Steve Parker conversion LINK (also available in non stainless)

Photos of the down pipe below but the rest is factory TD only reason for two intermediate pipes is to remove centre silencer and replaced with a second intermediate pipe.

Mines 19j was replaced with a Defender Tdi [ in 2008 ish] [ high turbo position ] engine. Did not have to change any exhaust parts as TD pipe just fitted on the Defender 200Tdi manifold. [ TD exhaust has 3 bolt flange's Tdi 2 bolt.]
Original TD rear exhaust box had a smaller diameter tail pipe, however replacement I fitted about five years ago is same diameter as main box. Did not notice any performance difference.
The 200 i bought had a newish exhaust system with it but as fitting would have required several mounting bracket mods I kept TD system as it was in good nick.

Not many seem to know but a TD exhaust manifold with some mods [ elongating some bolt holes] can fit a Disco 200Tdi head.
I may be missing something but if you swap the manifold to TD will you not be swapping the turbo as well?

When one looks at a 19j turbo next to a 200tdi one they look much the same with same base fitting.
A 19j turbo can be rebuilt to 200 standard with slightly larger compressor wheel. Other details I don't know.
So I guess if you fit standard 19j turbo to 200Tdi it will be down on power a tad.

Thank you to everyone who replied.
My thoughts were to fit a TD down pipe and a TD front section as the silencer beyond that is a TD. Whilst the 200tdi down pipe appears to encompass the 2 TD pipes I’m not convinced it will meet up with the existing TD exhaust.

From your photo it looks like you have the lower mounted turbo from the Disco. If this is correct, then you can indeed fit a cut back TD downpipe and system. That's exactly what I fitted/have.

photo is my setup, disco 200tdi, steve parker down pipe, TD intermediate, second TD intermediate (removed centre silencer), TD rear silencer, all mounted using original TD mounting brackets
