ive been trying to search for a new head bolt set but I only come across the newer 10 bolt per head sets. Anyone else had this issue?

just use the 10, 10 was deemed to be better

why not,10 alls thats needed gives 4 around each pot
Supposedly the outer rows caused the heads to tilt. Bear in mind that LR also did away with them, later heads don't even have the holes.
Usual recommended practice is either to file them in the bin in the corner or if you want to use them to fill the holes just nip them up very lightly.
Did the hgs on mine last year & left them out altogether. No problems.
