went quite well and gave me a bit of confidence that i might just paint it all myself rather than get it done by a local paint guy
Section on corner both sides inside and out next to the holes for screen was peiced in with new and looks like wasnt touched so happy with that
Galvernizing dosent help as twists everything
Time to get a few bits back on now

Painted a few more bits today seat box top and front floor plates
Made a bit of a school boy error in that i have sent the battery box and drivers side box for galve thinking i would paint all the bits seperatly without thinking about the riviot heads once i reasemble being not painted as they were when i took it apart

Once i get the two bits back from galve painted and rivoted back in ill decide if im to repaint it or not
Once i get seat box back in i can start the engine . Been 4 years since she has run ( been turned over regular)

A bit more done this weekend
Seems that ive spent forever last few weeks with very little to show but dash is all back in with a few upgrades
Fitted a minersty of defender heater/ac unit .
I didnt want to use the rotary fan switch it came with which was 3speed +v switched with an extra output for the ac compressor switch so i modified the landrover fan switch by ading a 3rd speed which was easy as there is provision for that just no terminal on the contact strip ,harder bit was addong a 4th contact in the off position to work a relay to switch the ac off when fan is off as landrover is all negative switched so had to run all the fan speeds and supply to the ac pump through neg switched relays . Pulled my hair out at times but got there
20210403_190320.jpg
also added two extra outlets pointing towards your face these have two small plate fans suppling them ,
20210403_191124.jpg
if i was to do it again i wouldent botherer with the extra fans as the new fan in the combined ac/heater has plenty of power without the extra fans
I used a new mud console as neaded the slimness of the double din radio to make room for the new vents
20210404_162558.jpg
also fitted new landrover style switches for front spots light bar rear light bar and winch solinoid
All wired back into fuse board below
Was a bit of a pain finding the terminals but a nice man in china on ebay had some
Front spots and front light bar are only on with high beam ,rear comes on with reverse and also on the switch which is always live so can use as a work light without haveing the key in and switched on
When im on my pc ill add the link for the terminal for the fuse board
Fitted the relays for lights an winch in the space under the dash along with a heated front screen kit .may regret it later as will be all dash out to change relays:(
Still thats most of the wireing done .only issue i had was when i was testing all the lights befor i put thr dash back in the rear fog light and both front side lights didnt work
Side lights was both bulbs blown .go figure that out . Rear fog ended up after lots of testing to be the latched relay under the clocks
As i ran out of switch holes in the mud dash and didnt want a top pod i got a couple of small swiches for the ac and extra fans ,managed to carefully cut out the window switch blanks and mont them in there

Time for some more sanding and painting now befor i start the big reassemble :)

Bit of repair work now on back of the lower section of the cab where it was fixed to an angle surport full width . Electrolisis has eaten it away
Am also altering te rear seat box as landy one has a fair storage area under it but a pain to get to as have to lift seats up
So im making a new one with 2 draws under it

Bit more progress today
Made a replacment peice for below the rear seat box as old bit had sufered the dreded electrolisis where the steel angle was against it

old one was a bit of a pain to get off as end spot welds were hidden where i couldent get with a drill
Fitted new bit with copious amonts of sikaflex and some csk 5mm screws and nylock nuts

Also made a start an a new rear seat box with 2 pull out draws as landrover seat box whist did have a useable space meant lifting seats up to get in it which meant seat belts were always missin when kids went in the back
