Looking to convert rear seating area in county spec 110 into a flat bed with storage underneath. To be used as stowage for mountaineering gear plus a flat area for two to sleep. (Don't worry, my son has hi-spec sleeping bags so the cold will not bother him!) Rear seats have already been stripped out but middle row retained. Surely somebody has done this sort of conversion for their tools/work gear? Pics would be very helpful. Thanks :D

Lots of people have done this sort of thing before.

Search and you will find ;)

....Search and you will find ;)

Think that's the challenge (not to knock you btw).
The LR fan base is large and enthusiasts abound - so there are many threads to sift through, add the almost required necessity to go off topic by 'Mr 23,456,667 posts' who needs their ego stroked and your search soon sours.
New to this myself and found some 'help' as much use as a 'chocolate fireguard'; there are some very good wise heads however and they do come along.

What does a chocolate fireguard do if you put it next to fire then

If your over 4' tall, you will need to sleep over the middle row of seats (I get 6'3 from back of the drivers seat to the rear window)
I would board the back out to the same height as the middle seats folded down, then whatever camp mat can go over the middle seats.
Id also make it so the boarding rear 1/3 would lift/fold so you can get to the stuff that gets shoved right to the back of the load area, and also so I could stick a cushion on the wheel box at either side as somewhere to sit if the weathers bad without having to take a tent.
carry mats, or SIMs are ok to sleep on if your not bothered about full on comforts, an air bed would probably take too much off the height to be usefull.
Heres mine, more for an idea of how high the middle row would make the bed area.
