HI All,

I think the diff is shot in my Salisbury axle. Rather than go though the pain, I think I will swap it for a later short nose axle. Means less pain long term, means i can put an ashlocker in there later on if i want.

My question is, is there is specific type of axle that will fit, I've read that the puma / late TD5 is a straight swap to the 300TDI, however is there a specific time range of axle i should be looking for, I've seen some from 2013 110's, but they have ABS, not sure if they still fit, or if they are too, new.

Anyone any ideas, and has anyone done it, are there any gotchas?

Thanks

Not really looked into it, but I suspect locking diffs/LSDs are available for a Salisbury axle. Might save a lot of work. There will be a reason Salisbury axle was specced for your vehicle originally.

Thanks guys, i think its going to have to be a new axle, it looks like the salisbury is bent (i have no idea how) so I'm in the process of calling breakers yards to see what they have.

There are a few Salisbury axles up for grabs on Fleabay at the moment - the drum braked ones can be converted to discs fairly easily too.
