Today, it so happens my drivers door will lock, but not unlock on the Fob, I have changed the Fob-Battery and checked the fuses.

No dice.
(It does unlock with key!!)

All other doors lock/unlock.

What am I doing wrong?
Is there a common fix/fault?
Is there a reset?

Ta.

Snap, me too.

apparently it needs a new £85 or so door latch to fix. I'm just going to live with mine.

Some bit of plastic apparently breaks, other than that I haven't really looked further into it. If it was a freak one off I wouldn't hesitate to buy a new one & fit it, but don't see the point in paying £85 for something which is obviously weak & flawed if I can still work it ok with the key.

it's part of the solenoid that breaks off. someone on the forum did successfully strip the lock all the way down and replace the broken solenoid with a 4.99 solenoid from maplin.

sadly the symptoms described point to broken lock mechanism.

I had exactly same door lock fault, on my 2003 TD4. Got quote for repair from my regular Landy dealer wanted £120 approx. to replace the lock. I declined and said I would manage with it. Used it for a while manually. Car had to go in some months later to sort out the SRS red alarm (air bag?) which was on, on the dash permanently. They sorted this out apparently by resetting some codes. Anyway realised once the Freelander was home that the drivers side door lock was and still is working perfectly normal. I can't believe that they fitted the parts that were initially quoted (£120) for free!! So that they were either conning me from the start or some miracle happened during the code resetting!!!
Due in for servicing next month, shall be asking some pertinent questions then.
