Soda Blasting Chassis and Engine Bay

Hi there,

A friend of mine has a very big air compressor and blasting kit/gun.

I've been researching and I've been reading soda blasting is good, which gives a good finish with the benefit that it doesnt wreck rubber or wiring etc. Or do you have to cover rubber hoses and wiring? If so with what?

Also thoughts on any different media? And i take it you also use soda on cleaning the engine bay?
