Yes that’s the one, but try cleaning up yours first it might be fine
Still thinking about what to do with crank cleaned it up a bit and took a better pic, that nick in middle looks quite deep, also there is a lot of pitting. Rang them for prices today, health check just to say what it needs is £36, polish another £40, Regrind £185, measuring was extra and full total would be £285. If he says it does need regrind which I think he will then its a lot cheaper to get this one on ebay. Its gonna be a hassle to get to machine shop then drop crank off and get back another day to pick it up in between work so thinking should I take a gamble and get the ebay one and save money, If it does need a regrind then thats a no brainer

I would say that is scrap, remember back in the day when 200s were new they had a rep for snapping cranks, I even bought one that had just been rebuilt after a crank failure.

Just come across your thread and makes for interesting reading as at some point I plan on rebuilding the 200tdi that had the engine fire.

Also as a shameless plug given your current crank issues I have a 200tdi crank for sale that has been fully reground if it is of any interest to you for your rebuld.

Got crank today very pleased with it looks like new. Standard main and big end bearings coming tomorrow so will get a start at weekend to try and get things put back together. When I find out where the bloody hell I start first.

I would still measure it although it looks good.
Clean, measure, clean, measure, clean, first :D.
Use up that tin of paint on the block, then have a cuppa and a fag;).

Nice to see you back again with another challenge, How you feeling?

Thanks Mate feeling good, hope you are well. Aint got time to go to machine shop to get thing measured, will have to try and figure out how to do it the hard way.

Why not just buy 1 of them accurate adjustabe spanners :D and measure yourself.
They are cheap these days.

Good decision on the crank, gold engine enamel brings it back original, don’t forget new core plugs, clean those piston spray jets inside block, get all the gunk out of oilways and block , don’t forget thrust washers , flush some water through block with core plugs out , in mine was large bits of orange RTV in the coolant passageways
And as Marjon says try and keep everything clean, best to fit crank, pistons then get sump on to keep btm end clean , even if temporarily , surprising how much crap just floating about to land on your nicely cleaned bits

Thats a thing I forgot, core plugs , then again suppose I can still flush it out, are they easy to replace ? wont be able to get any untill next week now, but suppose I can crack on in the mean time. Watched a few vids on measuring crank and ordered one of these, so will try and measure journals. Amazon product
Also need some silicone or something for sump, what did you use ?

You see on my thread link posted earlier the core plugs I got out , used a strong screwdriver to punch a hole then lever out , the others may have come out with tapping the edge. A bit of red hermatatite was suggested to seal core plugs, with those out you can see a bit more inside and get the hose pipe in to flush

For the aluminium ladder frame think that had gasket and I also used aerograde blue hylomar good on the water pump too.

For the sump I used loctite SI5980 from halfords, not had leaks
