300tdi mystery bracket

Mystery bracket in question is near the air filter case, around a hose near the throttle cable

It's zip tied to said hose - now, I bought this post rechassis and have found a number of part-finished jobs, should I bolt this to the underside of the air filter bracket like the holes are telling me to or is it spare? Should I take it out?

Any advice welcomed

Here’s my special…love these as work horses . With the back on I can sleep in the rear on green lane trips

Oh I love mine, solves all the problems I had with my utility 110. Just fit in the tub lengthways! My £150 ifor williams has the mesh door - mesh is just held on with zip ties (installed by previous owner) and just has holes where the gas strut should be. Can't for the life of me figure out which replacement strut would fit.

Where's your air intake?

Took me ages to find a new cover,came with the solid rear but no strut. Still have the mesh door incase the dogs go inside. When this is fitted I push the mesh right over onto the roof.
My air intake is behind the headlight as it’s not a normal filter.

Struts depot on the net has a good section.

The rear tail gate is the same design if it’s mesh or solid. Remove mesh and jut add flat Ali in its place. All fixings are the same.
