Does the P38 have a low ratio box?

It has a transfer box with high and low ratio, as per most land rovers

The low ratio is done with moving the shifter over with an auto

switch top let above clock on a manual box

P38 is same mechanical wise as a Defender, H frame chassis/steering box etc Just more heavy duty, a lot more comfortable and copious amounts of electrical nonsense and tantrums. Itl do everything a Defender will do better and faster except rot.

The main reason I had my p38 was to replace my 1998 90TDi since the price had rocketed.

One day I will get to drive it.

Yes. Just make sure when you go to view any potential car that the high/low works properly. And when on the test drive, if possible try and accelerate harshly to check for any chain slip in the transfer box. Parts are readily available for the Borg Warner though.

Always handy to have spares when it comes to P38's. I've effectively got a full car sat just incase something on mine dies lol.

I've got a garage full of them but I'm under order's to get shut, I'm not getting any younger and the boss wants to downsize.
