Buying advice please

im looking at buying a Discovery. But I can’t decide if the difference in price between the 4 and 3 is worth it.
I’ve had a new Wildtrak for work for the last 18 months but it’s not the best for kids and daily tasks.
Any advice would be appreciated.

There is a thread round here somewhere, sorry but the search function isn't working or I'd dig it out for you where the fella was looking for advice on what vehicle D3 or D4 and he was torn between the two as the D4 was newer but the D3 was HSE spec, few miles between and same YOM, highest spec as it gives best bang for your buck. It is easy to get drawn into the newest vehicle but if you can get a slightly older vehicle but with a much higher spec, better service history, lower mileage etc, then I would also bare that in mind when considering potential vehicles.

I know the Disco 3 had loads of problems but if the issues have been dealt with it’s hard to justify the fairly big difference in price unless the 4 is a huge improvement!

But that's the thing, the D4 isn't a massive improvement in my honest opinion, certainly not like going from a D2 to a D3 where the differences are stratospheric.

Iv just bought a D3 HSE spec its bloody brilliant on 55plate 113k miles my mates got a D4 cost him 35grand and looks basic in comparrison
