Whatever it is it hasn't brokeded anyfing 'yet' and I've been using it since cassettes could still be easily found. I'll take a photo of it some day soon, when a walk to the car doesn't feel like a himalayan trek Whatever works, it or the head cleaner, the tapes play (famous last words)

The cleaning tape is doing the job as it runs over the pick up head the same as a normal tape, simple and effective.

You don't say what make the unit is, if it's a Clarion the company does a postal repair service for any of their products.
