Oil in red socket Injector seals questions..HELP!

I have had the oil in the ecu for quite some time now but never got the time to fix it; I only drive it once in two months... today finally I opened it all up and I have a few questions... Please help.

1. Is my ecu the flashable NNN type? (pic enclosed)
2. How do I clean the red socket.. what and how to use?
3. How do I clean the whole loom.. from the injector socket to the red socket?
4. How do clean the MAP sensor.. what and how to use?
5. My glow plug sockets were very brittle and I broke all 4 of them while removing them.... whats the fix?

I put some petrol in the injector socket in the engine bay and after a while it did drip from the red socket... should I do it a number of times to clean the loom from the inside?

I have a lot of oil in the red socket so I thought it probably got in the ecu so I decided to check... Its looks oil free to me, though there is some sticky stuff on everything inside the ecu... is that normal? Should I clean it from inside with something just to make sure? What to use and how?

My engine made a very loud, irritating, horrible whistle under boost, first I thought the turbo is blown but I removed my IC today and it has a lot of oil and dirt on one side(pic enclosed) could that be the reason? Its leaking? All the IC hoses are fine.

Do I need to know anything else?
I bought my car new and it now has 120k Kms in 12 years.....although never had any symptoms of bad copper washers and/or O rings but I just wanted to get done with it.
The rings and washers seemed like they had a proper seal.... no signs of leakage anywhere upon removal and all five injectors came out pretty easily.

Do I have to install the injectors in the same order I removed them in?? I think I messed up no.1 and no.2, not sure about them. 3 4 and 5 are good.

Whats happens if I get them wrong?

hi, if you've mixed the injectors you must use a tester to save the codes in the ECU memory as they are now or it will not run well, might not rev above 3000rpm....

as you can see your ECU is MSB not NNN,

just confirm did you replace the injector loom as you didn't mention that, then you must clean the red plug few more times until all the residual oil will leave the wires

Petrol or brake cleaner from the engine plug end soak up with tissue paper at red plug end.

First time I replaced my injector loom oil still seeped through.
So second time before fitting I soldered any exposed wire then sealed the plugs with high temp silicon sealant.

I year on I still get a spot of oil but it isn't soaked after every trip like it used to be

I am doing the injector washers and O rings job on my car but I am kind of stuck now.

The new washers are genuine LR part but they wouldn't go past the mid point on the injector nozzles. Am I doing anything wrong? I have cleaned the tip using fine sand paper and there's no carbon left on the tips but that's not helping. I tried forcing them a little but to no joy.

Don't want to damage any thing since nothing is available here.... got these from Dubai as well.

Do I place the washers in the head first then install injector and use the clamp to seat them in place by tightening the bolt? Is that the correct way? Would that damage anything?

Also, I washed the injectors with petrol... is that okay??

The ECM is most likely Ok - Only clean with Alcohol - Isopropyl alcohol is available from chemists if you explain what for.

As for cleaning the loom, tie a plastic bag over the lower end. Best not to use petrol as it can embrittle the wires. soldering them isnt always a help as the oil transmits by capillary action along the strands of wire.

Is it a Disco, or a Defender, cos an extension lead can help in stopping the oil getting to the ECM.

Thats not available here... what else can I use... can I use electrical contact cleaner tp clean ecu?

if its a defender then an extension cable helps - but they arent cheap - about £175 up.

Please help?!

You can use a socket to push the washers on gently. Put the flat side of the socket (the bit where you ratchet goes) against the washer with the tip through the hole so as to keep it straight. The problem with just dropping it straight into the hole and pushing is that you can't see if you've damaged the washer.

I used a socket to tap them into place but the socket did leave a slight mark on each washer; hopefully its all good!

When I was researching the delayed starting issue I read about these parts(pics enclosed) and ordered them now I can't recall where these go and what do they do? How to replace them?

Any ideas?
