Finally got the uprated gearbox oil cooler fitted! :clap2:
Not without its problems but always the way, eh.

For a kick off, I couldn't tow anything with a normal tow hitch on the bumper due to how high it sits after the lift.
I've got a tank guard with optional adjustable tow hitch waiting to be fitted if I ever did need to tow anything.

To be fair, they're probably more advantageous in the way that you can lock the top down, therefore eliminating any potential of a towing rope coming off when it's slack.

And finally, they just look better. A lot better. :D

yep, thats awesome :)

rebuild kit available?

I just stripped it down as it was, Sam.

Removed the 2 circlips & main pins from the top jaw, unscrewed the grease nipple, removed the 4 cross head screws from the main body and then dismantled it as per the 2nd pic.

It's paramount to not paint where any pins pass through holes or on any part where you have rotating metal on metal, otherwise it simply will not go back together.
Had to spend an hour or so removing any paint that had dribbled onto any areas mentioned above due to the swivel action not being anywhere near as smooth as it should have been.

It rotated even smoother after I pumped it with grease again. :D

well the radiator and cooler are sexy and Im well jell.... but it would probably interfere with my winch position so i will stick to my old knackered one lol

I do like the nato hitch. My mate has one but its the big 71/2 ton jobby so its mahusive. what did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking.

To be fair, I only went down the full width rad route due to stumbling across a full width intercooler at a bargain price.

The uprated and custom made gearbox cooler was a necessity though as the standard one was getting way too hot in the warmer months when out laning, to the degree that it melted the plastic tray which normally sits underneath it.
Didn't expect the new one to be 3x the size of the original though!

Re the Nato hitch, I think I paid around £65 for it off eBay, but didn't mind paying slightly over the odds for it, as a percentage of the money raised on that particular auction was to be donated to the Help For Hero's charity. :)
It was also in virtually brand new condition but just came in red oxide primer.

All in good time, my friend. :)

Flat out with work at the minute and waiting for a suitable gap to get in the garage and done.
And there's no way I'm taking it off the road for a day in this weather! :D
