Should I have a go at inlet manifold pivot valve and try bleeding the system again ?

bleeding Freelanders (sic!) is a problem - it has to be done by the book. Download a copy of the Rave search: on here for links). Maybe a complete flush and vacuum fill mite fix the prob, however sequential HGF's are common

If its yo Freelandar then I suggest the Freelander section - general (uncensored) chat in "anything goes" or general Q's in "General". Have a look search through the Common Faults and Questions - Land Rover Zone for lots of fixes and tips (dont post in there as a rule ).

Linette, if you discover the cause of your vehicle's problem please keep us informed. My friend has a BMW 316 with a similar problem. He has changed the head gasket, water pump, head skimmed, thermostat but still boils but radiator not getting hot in the middle.He hasnt had it that long and previous owner had put radweld or summat in it. Hes tried flushing it out with a hose. The heater gets warm initially then goes cold just before it boils. He has ordered another radiator as he reckons it may be bunged up with radweld.
