Depending how it goes rest of week with weather and spare time-aiming to start remove dustbin exhausts off back, cut front off and pull engine and box.

With cat-back OFF. the pipe ends at the hand brake lever

video doesnt do it justice. I drove to a RR day and clocked 151mph with no exhaust. even with ear plugs my headache lasted 2days and I could feel my clothes vibrating.

got the engine and box out, anything in the way got cut off and no mercy, tight as buggery to the suspension cross member,but couldn't be arsed to split box

The rear wheel prop drive of autobox can be removed for a 4x4 conversion I posted a link to guy in Zimbabwe who used 2 19mm plates,section of tube and bracing plates.

I'm not convinced this is the best way as he mentioned custom propshafts and that hints that prop angles will be more acute.

I'm thinking best way will be to pull LR engine and gearbox and have a dry run with lexus lump-see what is what.

I am also concerned that getting the transfer box to lexus autobox angle and length correct and using existing transfer box location.

what about an lt95 , probably the strongest box, and has built in transfer box normally.

You can then fit an overdrive for the motorways if you want it. I have a spare you can use for mock up if you come and get it out, so long as I get it back

i read a bit more in some of the links you posted,as i'm sure you did,and one guy said the transfer box only moved 35mm.(i'm assuming he was dropping the engine and box into a standard drive train) wouldn't think that would affect angle too much and you can do your own props. would suggest (not trying to teach my granny how to suck eggs) working forward from the transfer if using one of his adaptors and moving/modifying engine mounts to suit. very interesting option.

Thanks fett for the offer,engine ecu controls gearbox-so prefer to try that first.

Regards to transfer box I'd like to leave it on standard mounts remove the engine and gearbox. offer up the lexus lump and box see what score is first.

I have also considered a divorced set up as well.

yeah that ecu thing worried me with my bmw plans too, manual might be better but the 6 speed manual is a rare beast especially attched to a good engine.

is it the same with lexus, did they do a manual?
