Removed front O/S footwell carpet today need to have hole in bulkhead behind pedals welded to give it more strength.

Carpets are in the house drying out not sure how long that will take.

MJS Headliners re-covered my liner. Great service, highly recommend.

Thinking about a ReMap any views on this?
Tidying up my Discovery 2.

Drying out, replacing headliner, fixing sunroof seals and leaks, replacing roof bar seals and adding some blue LEDs to the dash and Temperature Console.

Also filling holes that a previous owner used white silicon and sheet metal to seal.

Painting Rust Converter onto Chassis.

Lots of work forever as a Discovery 2 owner.
You're never too old to learn new things, but you can be too stupid
After many years regretting selling my old SIII Landy after doing a full restoration on it, I finally reached that age where I decided I needed to get my dream car, well nearly, I recently purchased a 2008 L322 3.6.
Good to know the forum is still going

I have so far experienced all those niggly little issues they throw at you after you drive one out of the showroom and after 130k miles, mine was looking for more attention than a mistress half my age probably would be insisting on with similar expenditure to go with it. But I'm still hopeful that after giving it some love, it i'll prove to provide me with some pleasurable journeys and reliable motoring.

Guess its time to wake up now!!
so, now have a wobble free Freelander 1 td4 (new VCU) bit noisy but have bearings (FAG's) on order.
****ing about in the water and now massive power loss almost feels like turbo not engaging ?

when warms up get like a squealing noise then the power loss starts, feels like running an old diesel with no boost.... :(
any help or advice much appreciated :)

was thinking egr valve or the turbo control thing with the 3 vacuum pipes running to it but wondered if anybody else had similar issues ?

was fine until it got wet :(

all sorted and fixed !
just a quick post in case somebody might find it useful
located the problem to split vacuum hoses around the turbo actuator, can only assume they were sucking in water and the breather filter full of water and so air locked.

replaced hoses emptied out filter now running sweet again (famous last words)

Omg it’s a Freelander…..

So. New vcu bearings put on fresh from bell, whine has gone which is good but one of the bearing has an annoying squeak on full lock ffs….

also when had it in bits checked the IRD pinion bearings, pleased to report all good.

So better than before but the saga continues..
hi all, i have a 110 i have to charge my battery every nightie had a new alternator put on and it still isn't holding a charge, could the starter motor be draining it?

Could be battery drain or the battery itself is deaded and can’t hold the charge.
Ask for help in the forums there’s few ways to easily test.
A DVM would be ideal, if it’s a drain you could systematically pull a fuse every night when you park up til it doesn’t drain then you know which system is draining it
You might want to ignore my last comment. The message if terrain system faultly came up again tonight and the light came on the dash. Been tryin my method for fixing it as I did before. It has not worked this time . sorry.

Hi,
I'm looking around. Need to find my way in communication (the language).
Do my best. Please give me a moment. My name is John. Hobby is travelling. For this I'm using the Landrover Discovery 2.
Reading up on my autobox issue mentioned - I have been getting a noticeably loud whine for several thousand miles - which I assumed was wheel bearing but garage could never find - at about 40-45 mph, below and above that speed it disappears and isn't always present - which I'm now wondering if it's related, torque converter maybe.

Hi Eddie, Great to hear from you and that you're improving. I'm still here, as is the Freelander... as is the as is the offer of a cuppa if you're back over this way at any time :) I was in Blighty for a couple of weeks in August, but it was just a visit to see my mum, didn't even take the time to snap up some cheap bits for the motor while I was over.
Hi,
I have a Freelander 2 year 2013 and would like to update my Sat Navigation - Does anyone know how to do it without spending
a fortune with Landrover.
Thanks in advance

Garaged has had it 6 weeks and can’t find problem
Today a friend plug it in to his scanner and we noticed it’s fluctuating from high and low constantly

Could this cause this running issue
