    Removing 300tdi alternator pulley

Holding the pulley doesn't do anything, if you hold it and turn the nut it just spins the alternator. There was a squeaking sound for a few days before it went, but it sounded more like it was coming from the serpentine belt tensioner (made more probable by the fact that spraying a bit of...

    Removing 300tdi alternator pulley

That's the bugger of it - I can't really see properly until I get it off, but it looks like some kind of washer/spacer has shattered. This is the first time I've ever looked at a 300tdi alternator, so I don't have any point of reference, but it's definitely something between the pulley and the...

    Removing 300tdi alternator pulley

Would if I could, but I'm working 7-7 every day until Christmas eve. It would have to be a pretty big drink to convince any of the garages round here to stay open late enough for me to get there after work. Looks like I'll just have to bodge something and/or pray the Halfords delivery gets...

    Removing 300tdi alternator pulley

Pretty much what I'd do if I had the kit. Just moved though and I'm not properly installed yet.

Not that I can get to whilst they're open. Just spotted the next day delivery on their website though, so I'll give that a try.

    Removing 300tdi alternator pulley

Already thought of this. Sadly, it looks like I won't be able to go out and get any additional bits until after Christmas, and there's small chance of anything getting delivered before then. To make it worse, Christmas plans rely quite heavily on having a working vehicle.

    Removing 300tdi alternator pulley

My alternator pulley gave up on the way home from work the other day. I have a replacement, but I have minimal tools, so I'm having trouble getting the old one off and new one on. It's the Marelli type where you need to get an 8mm Allen key on the bolt and a 24mm spanner on the nut, only I...

Finding disco 1 parts between Yorkshire & manchester

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I'm in a bit of a pickle. I need to get hold of a brake master cylinder for a series 1 Discovery (One of the post MA081992 ones) today or tomorrow, preferably today. I'm going to be travelling from Ripon, north Yorkshire to Manchester this...

Ripon, but I'm moving in a couple of weeks. I'll still be around a lot though as it's where the family's based.

Not quite sure yet. I just got a new job in Altrincham, so I've been looking for places around there/Sale, although I've just spotted a brilliant looking place in a village near Bolton.

Check on the first bit, but as I'm only 23 I'd be rather impressed with myself if I had an 18 year old daughter.

Hi. I just joined to ask about a problem I'm having with one of my Landys, so I thought I should introduce myself. I'm based in Yorkshire (soon to be Manchester). I have two machines; a 1972 ex-military Series III 109" - which is a restoration project I'm working on, and a 1966 Series IIa 88"...

    Bizarre IIa tail light fault

First of all a quick hello, as I only just joined this forum whilst scouring the interwebs for a possible solution to this problem. So... Hello. Ok, now to the problem. All the lights on my IIa were working perfectly a few days ago, but now - two days away from MOT time - it's developed a very...
