I have adjustment nut inside pedal box out to end of threaded bar on master cylinder. I just reckon bite is too quick but saying that clutch is not as good as I would have liked so now wondering is pressure plate weakened and maybe need a clutch.

I'd say about an inch

Hello all. Got new parts fitted and all seems good although I think the biting point is very quick on lifting the pedal off the floor. Any thoughts?

The fluid does look dark. I think it might be best to change master and slave cylinders at this stage. Thanks to everyone for the input. Much appreciated.

Hi all Noticed my clutch getting bad today and practically no pedal at all. Looking under bonnet I can see dampness where fluid goes in but no leak that I can see. Will I need to replace the whole unit or can it be resealed? How big a job is it? Thanks in advance

Thanks kwackerman. Starter out and in with auto tech. He says he's had several defenders in with top nut missing of starter. Wonder why lol

Hi all. My 04 defender 90 has a starter issue. Just had a quick look and see the bottom 2 bolts seem to be 1/2 inch. What size is the top nut and would I be right in saying it looks a real ******* to get at. Thanks in advance

Thank you both for quick replies, is there a wire I can disconnect so I can crank engine to feed oil pipe though stop it from starting. Its a td5 2004 turboman, not sure on exact engine

ive recently had huge plumes of smoke behind me and on closer inspection of the turbo found there was a lot of play in the axial of the turbo. Thanks paul and very true. I only changed the oil two weeks ago, used 5-30 as given to me by the dealer, all filters changed too, theres play in centre spindle of turbo so maybe its just on its way out, just hope turbo is the prob
