Just another observation looking at the pic of the rig in question. The RF gain should be always turned fully clockwise to achieve maximum sensitivity. You only need to turn it down if u are sitting right next to a base station running loads of power!!

If you look at the pics of his rig you can see that he has only the 4 lights to represent signal..........as +30 was FSD on a meter I would imagine that 4 out of 4 lights equates to the same thing.
