Kenlowe Fan Kit 16/SX (High Peak Area)

Hi There, I bought this for my 200 TDI, but never got round to fitting it! In original packaging, all parts still in plastic bags. Got to be worth £80 + postage hasn't it?

    Disco 3, Whining Noise!

I get a whining noise immediately after filling up. I realised it was me! Is your noise related to road speed, or engine speed. ie Is it higher pitched when in a lower gear, for the same speed? If it's road speed, you can (generally) say it is something after the output shaft of gearbox.

    snorkel time..

Yes, I get that thanks, but I was thinking more about plunging a cast casing heated to maybe 400c? into cold water. I've always wondered, but never seen any explosions from that area on the day!!

    snorkel time..

I've always wondered about wading deep enough to need a snorkel. Surely stuff like your turbo would be underwater before the air intake? What do people think?

    discovery v8 non start

On mine it would crank but not fire, and on other occasions neither. When it did crank, it would show a spark at the plug cap, but it is inadequate to spark the fuel when under compression! Anyway, try everything else, but remember this if/when all else fails. Good Luck!!

    D1 front wheel bearings.

I think the onlly differrence from my III is that my disco manual quotes torque settings. But I've nevr worked out how to get a torque wrench on my 52 box key.

    discovery v8 non start

    1) DON'T KEEP CRANKING IT IF IT'S NOT FIRING. I mention this from bitter experience-It's the way to fe*k the catalytic converters. 2)Possibly it is the immobiliser spider. There is good link somewhere in here about how to get to it (it's right under the centre dash on top of the heater)...

    Loss of traction, skidding...

Sorry, I meant the bit about locking diffs to apply to both statements, but I still think you are wrong. A 4x2 only has one driven wheel;if you have a locking diff ( or indeed a limited slip diff)you will then get 2 wheels powered on the one axle.

    Loss of traction, skidding...

4X4 a vehicle with four wheels that's powered by 2 wheels, one on each axle 4x2 a vehicle with four wheels that is powered by one wheel.......................................unless of course you have locking diffs on the axles

    Batterys

Amp/hours is, I think your question ? Answer is that however big in that regard, it won't blow anything because of battery size. It is only an indication of how many amps it can deliver for how long. BTW I put a calcium based battery in my V8 some years ago, and I can certainly recommend that...

    help me

Or it could be the usual immobiliser spider fault? I know on mine that it would crank and show a spark, but apparently when the plug is back in the cylinder, there is not enough voltage to fire the engine.

    Petrol sprinkler system

Land Rover did a safety recall for petrol tanks ref A156 disco 1 1993my to 1998my. I think early 2005. Maybe yours wasn't done, (or a previous owner didn't pass on the notice). It might be worth a plaintive plea to LR.
