P38 4.6 HSE seat recline fault

Wammers was right, it was the mechanism, followed RAVE and took out seat and removed seatback. Stripped back covering to find that the small single bolt securing the motor was only holding on by a couple of threads and consequently the pinion was disengaged. Quite how it work one way and not the...

P38 4.6 HSE seat recline fault

I reclined my seat back in error leaning across the drivers seat to adjust a long load I was carrying. The seat back is now fully reclined and will not return, just making a clicking noise. I have had the seat out, checked all connections and switches. If anybody has any ideas it would be very...

    Overheating Defender 90 converted 200TDI

Thanks for the replies, yes the rad is hot all over, the reason it was replaced is that it burst after my daughter in law ignored the overheating and drove it with the temp gauge in the red zone. I don't know whether that is an indication of the problem I've never had a radiator burst before. I...

    Overheating Defender 90 converted 200TDI

If anyone could throw any light on this I would be delighted as it has me stumped. Conversion was done about 3 yrs ago and later fitted with an uprated turbo and intercooler. Performance was greatly improved and was all fine until it was taken off road. The rad got clogged and it overheated...

    Hard suspension

Think so, it goes up quite high when I press the up button and drops down OK to the standard setting, drops OK on Motorway too. The cars on standard wheels and 'Scorpion' tyres inflated to correct pressure. Spoke to my son about it again and he seems to recall being unable to move the shockers...

    Hard suspension

The ride is as described in some of the other posts - crashing over potholes and setting up rattles in the vehicle. The airbags are new dunlop items, the pump is new and the EAS is working properly on height changes etc, so it points at the two changed items the polybushes or the shockers or...

    Hard suspension

Thanks, I did suspect the polybushes, though my son polybushed his Defender and that seems OK. He can't remember where he go the shockers, it was off a 4 x 4 site on the internet, but he did say they were cheap. I think I will got the whole hog and change both bushes to rubber get some decent...

    Hard suspension

Hi, I am a new member to LZ but have been a Landie owner for over 15 yrs. My latest landie is a Rangie P38 4.6HSE which I acquired from my son (free!). Just before passing it on to me he had new airbags fitted new shockers and superflex bushes. The resultant ride is bone shudderingly hard. He...
