I reclined my seat back in error leaning across the drivers seat to adjust a long load I was carrying. The seat back is now fully reclined and will not return, just making a clicking noise. I have had the seat out, checked all connections and switches. If anybody has any ideas it would be very helpful.

You have stripped or broken something in recline mechanism. Remove seat and take out recline motor and check damage. Guide to do this in RAVE.

Relay or switch.

If the seat is motoring down power relay is fine. Switch just swaps polarity to motor to drive it one way or the other, has to be that can't be a lot else. Although OP did mention a clicking noise which would indicate something stripped or broken. Not been mentioned since though.

Wammers was right, it was the mechanism, followed RAVE and took out seat and removed seatback. Stripped back covering to find that the small single bolt securing the motor was only holding on by a couple of threads and consequently the pinion was disengaged. Quite how it work one way and not the other is a mystery - torque moving the motor back into pinion engagement? Anyway quick tighten up and not so quick putting back together of the seat and all now working well.
