Can someone please tell me if it is best to get a td4 with a manual gearbox, or an automatic. Are there any know problems with an automatic?

Can anyone advise me please. Looking at buying a 2.0 td4, 4-5 years old, max 60,000 miles and only £8000 to spend. What problems may I occur with a vehicle this age. Will it be a love affair with my wallet and endless trips taking it back for repairs etc?

Thanks for that, I have something to start searching with now. Just one other thing, what sort of price range will I be looking at, for 3-5 years old, 5 door and no more than 60,000.

I have a 3.0 litre V6 Jag at the moment. I know this is a completely different vehicle, but I`m thinking economical at present, and £60 a week in petrol for 300 miles is not economical! Thanks for the advice tho

Hi Guys, I am very new to this forum, so new, this is my first post! I`m looking at buying a 1.8 or a 2.0 td4 Freelander, 3-5 years old. Can anyone tell me, are these good models, and are they prone to lots of aggro. Thanks
