Whats your thoughts on changing from air suspension to coil springs? everyone seems to have an opinion on this.

A friend of mine recons that with the conversion they drive much better, less body roll on the road etc than on worn air bags not sure about new ones. My problem is simply why is the air suspension not working, i'm guessing its one of the bags, there was some popping noise from under the bonnet...
