    defender td5 shuttle valve

Resurrecting an old thread rather than starting a new one. I've just had the TC & ABS light fault appear on my 2002 Defender Td5. Took it to my local LR specialist and they confirmed it's the shuttle valve fault. On their advice we've disconnected the wiring to the ABS pump so I'm currently...

    Defender specialist reccomendations, Glos?

Our much-loved TD5 needs some work doing to it (new clutch, door seals, electrics need a bit of sorting), and we'd also like some upgrades (extra lights, decent CD/radio, chequerplate, overdrive etc). Can anyone recommend a good specialist, ideally not too far from Gloucestershire, who can be...

    td4 brakes

Since they had to get rid of asbestos in disc pads, the discs themselves have become something of a wear item, and generally you could expect to renew them every other change of pads. If you've got a substantial wear lip on your discs, take a moment to check they haven't worn below their tolerance.

Jusst look at this for a welcome to,the LandroveR Club

As an owner of both a Defender (Td5 90 Hardtop) and a TD4 Hippo, I have to say I find all this anti-FL stuff a bit risible. We need the TD5 for all the standard farm jobs, but as I also have to work for a living (tried making money out of farming these days?) I needed a 4x4 to get to work. So...

No, I meant a nice one. I think Disco 3s are pig ugly things. I wouldn't give one house room.

    2005 Trim Rattles

My 2005 (facelift) Td4 has developed a rattle which seems to be coming from the trim around the radio. Thing is, my Rave manual only covers up to before the facelift, and the radio is a completely different fitment. Does anyone know how to get the trim removed so I can see what's going on? Is...

Gaylanders are great in the snow

How do you mean 'struggles'? Is it a lack of grip from the tyres or a lack of torque from the engine? If it's the tyres, have you got summer/road tyres on? I see a lot of FLs and RRs around with quite frankly ludicrous rubber on them. Get a set of ATs on it if that's the case. If it's a lack...

    Leaving an FL standing

Agreed. So long as it gets a trip of 30 miles or so every month or so it'll be absolutely fine.

    Over revving

Have you looked for an air leak downstream of the throttle body?

    rave problem

If the zip file contained an iso disk image you'll need to burn the image to a cd, not just copy it. Google up iso burner, there's loads of free apps that can do this. HTH

    Hello from Gloucestershire

Hi All, New to the group, but not to Land Rovers, I've owned a IIa, 300 Tdi, and now have a TD5 Hardtop. Currently looking for a 90 XS, and quite getting into the idea of tuning it up a bit.
